The Analysis of Marriage BLESSINGS
And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father. And he said, thy brother came with subtlety, and hath taken away thy blessing. And he said, is not he rightly named Jacob? For he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? (Gen. 27:34-36).
According to the above passage, we can understand that:
- Blessings can be stolen.
- Blessings can be transferred.
Once a blessing that is meant for a particular person has been transferred, the person needs to work hard to get it back. People who listen to demonic instructions should come to their senses today and desist from it if they want their lives to move forward.
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacobs thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. (Gen. 32:24-27)
This passage is telling us that we should wrestle, struggle to lay hands on our blessings. There is somebody who is known as the ALMIGHTY: HE is higher than the highest and taller than the tallest. HE is the fountain-head of blessing. We can wrestle like Jacob wrestled.
Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your GOD, which I command you this day; And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your GOD, but turn a side out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy GOD hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal. (Deut.11:26-29)
Here we can see that a place can be a location of blessing or of curse. It also means that you can choose to be blessed or cursed. We can also see that the key to divine blessing is obedience to the LORD. Obeying the LORD brings blessings to your life, and disobeying HIM would bring curses.
He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. Prov.11:27
He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. Prov.11:26.
If you seek blessing, you will be blessed. If you seek good, you will procure favour. Blessing can be upon the head of a man or woman. The Bible says:
How beautiful are the feet of them that preacheth the gospel of peace. Romans10:15.
WHAT IS BLESSING?
Blessing is the impartation of a supernatural gift to a human life through the spoken word of a divine representative. Blessings are words charged with positive supernatural power. Blessings are the opposite of curses. When you give a blessing, you are asking GOD to work through you because blessing is a supernatural thing. It is not bound by geographical distance. You can bless someone who is very far away from you.
A woman planted two things and decided to carry out an experiment. Every morning, she would go to the first plant and say, “you this plant, you will not prosper. You will die young and it will not be good for you.” She would turn to
the second plant and say: “you this plant, you will prosper, you will do well; you will blossom.” The woman was doing a simple experiment. But after two weeks, the plant she was cursing everyday began to dry up while the one she was blessing started to blossom. Unfortunately, many parents play around with curses on their children and believe they are just playing or trying to rebuke them.
DEEP SECRETS
One of the secrets of the Jews is that they choose one day in a week to bless their children. All these blessings have extraordinary healing powers. A child that is bombarded with parental blessings will do a lot better than a child bombarded with curses. Unfortunately, the power of blessing has not been understood or adequately presented to this present generation. Rather, what you hear people say to others most times is, ‘Take care.’ But the Bible says, ”Be careful for nothing ” These days, you hear some people say to others, ”Bless you.” ”Bless you” is not a blessing unless you say, “GOD bless you:’ GOD has given us the ability to choose between right and wrong. So, you can commit yourself to picking blessings or curses. One can choose which way to go whether the way of the world which attracts curses or the way of the LORD which gives blessings. A person can lose the blessing of salvation or other blessings. Just like a certificate given to a person can be withdrawn, blessings too can be withdrawn. But believers have the right to receive all the blessings that GOD has made available to them. This is why we always talk about Abraham’s blessings. It is written, “that the blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles.” So, all true children of GOD can bestow blessings on people and can also receive blessings. Unbelievers can receive blessings, but can’t give blessings. This is because the Bible says, “The prayer of a sinner is an abomination before the LORD.“
Make the following declaration: “I bless my life, in the name of Jesus. I release the blessings of heaven into my life. I pray for the LORD’s prosperity upon my life. I release HIS love, joy, and peace into my life, in the name of Jesus. The LORD shall bless my going out and my coming in. The LORD shall bless me in all my ways, in the name of Jesus.”
As you read through the scriptures, you will find statements such as ‘blessed is this, blessed is that.’ And by the time we put all of these together, everything can be summarized in one sentence: “Blessed is the man or woman who will obey the LORD no matter what it may cost him or her.”
Another secret of blessing can be found in Genesis 48:1.1-19:
And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and lo, GOD hath shown me also thy seed. And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth. And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near unto him. And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hand wittingly; for Manasseh was the first born. And he blessed Joseph, and said, GOD, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the GOD which fed me all my life long unto this day, the Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into multitude in the midst of the earth. And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head. And Joseph said unto his father, not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
There is a mystery behind the event in the foregoing passage. A parent’s blessings with the right hand are the most powerful supernatural life-changing tool although the blessings will only take root if the child surrenders his or her life to Jesus. But the blessings given with the right hand have more powerful
impact than those given with the left hand. Those two lads were positioned before Jacob, the elder at the right hand and the younger by the left. But the Patriarch crossed his hands and laid his right hand on the head of the younger and the left hand on the elder’s head, this is quite prophetically significant. I pray that the enemy will not transfer your blessings, in Jesus’ name.
Ephesians 1:3 says:
Blessed be tire GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in CHRIST.
Beloved, to get the fullness of GOD’s blessing, you must become born again.
You have to surrender your life to CHRIST. If you want to give your life to CHRIST JESUS, make the following confession: “LORD JESUS, I come before you today, I surrender my life to you. I know that I am a sinner. Forgive my sins and wash me with your precious blood. Take absolute control of my life. Thank you LORD JESUS, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
