POWER FOR EXCELLENCE

In the previous chapter, we discovered the keys of explosive success, namely, favour, thought processes, proper time management, regular quiet time, the need for watchfulness, facing the future etc. Against this backdrop, we shall examine other keys, to unlocking the door of success.

Let us look into additional keys which inevitably plug us into explosive success.

Draw a list of your priorities in life and follow them

Proper planning, they say prevents poor performance. For you to achieve explosive success, you must draw a list of your priorities in life, and ensure that you are focussed. In other words, take control of your life; do not ever allow your life to be under the control of witches, wizards and satanic agents.

In life, you must be meticulous in everything you do. It will not be proper to rush into doing all things at the same time. Rather, you must learn to face the most pressing and urgent needs of your life, before attempting fewer important things. That is what priority is all about.

For a man who has goals, everything cannot be done at the same time. If you have goals, you will not mind how rough the road is when God is leading you.

Every moment of your life must be lived in accordance with the plan and will of God. You do not have all the time to spend in this world. That is why you have to set priorities on what you are doing. It is the priority you set, that will help you to do the right thing at the right time. Spend your life meaningfully and purposefully, by applying your heart to wisdom.

The Bible says:

Psalm 90:10-12: The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Many, today, will tell you that a fool at 40 is a fool forever. I beg to disagree. If you are about twenty-one years old, and you are already a fool, by the time you get to age 40, you will be one of the greatest fools in this world. It is lack of priority, that can position you in the company of fools. When you have a well-laid out priority on your goals, you will lead a fulfilled life.

You need to pray the prayer of deliverance, that God will set you free, if you are already leaving without direction. Your prayer should be patterned after Jesus’ command, when He brought Lazarus out of the grave. You need to command your Lazarus to come forth by fire, and he will come out. At this point in time, I want you to lay your hand upon your chest and pray this prayer: “My Lazarus, come forth, in the name of Jesus.

SELF EXAMINATION

Do you have priorities? Are you focussed? Well, I do not want you to hastily tell me, that you have a priority. I will take you through series of heart searching questions, that will help you to have the correct assessment of your self.

Do I have a definite goal and purpose in life?

You may never be able to be your best without having a definite goal in life. If you ask some people what they want to become in life, they will simply tell you that they want to get married. That should not be your major purpose in life. It could be a means of achieving your goal, but not the goal itself.

Do I get depressed, when I am ill-treated?

It is very possible for you to face lots of hurdles on your way to success. People can even maltreat you in order to get you depressed. But, it is only those who are resolute that will get rid of depression.

Do I give up easily when I fail?

It is the ability to bounce back that matters when failure comes. “Quitters never win, while winners never quit.” For you to have explosive success. you must never quit!

Do I go out of my way to cheerfully help others?

Helping others to achieve their goals in life is a key to your own fulfilment. When you help other people to get what they want, you will also experience open doors.

Do I manifest inferiority complex?

This has to be overcome in your life: Since Christ Jesus is in you, there is no cause for inferiority complex. Pray to God to help you overcome this complex problem.

Do I refrain from showing off how much I know?

Are there many people, who rob me and who make me complain?

Do I sometimes challenge myself to move forward, or I wait for someone to push me?

When I am afraid, do I consider how I develop fear?

Under what situations, do I loose my temper?

Do I avoid making fun of others behind their backs?

Do I bear grudges against people for weeks, or months?

Do I dislike adjusting to changes?

Do I sometimes talk frankly to myself about my own mistakes, or have I formed the habit of always giving myself a pass mark?

Is heaven my priority or making money?

If you can sincerely answer the above questions, you will know whether you have the right priority or not.

Control your words

The words that come out of your mouth are another key to explosive success. The words you speak can either elevate you, or, demote you. It will either increase or decrease you. There is a need for you, to have the right words at all times.

If you continue to talk failure, you will get failure. When your words are full of discouragement, you will get discouraged. Talk and dream about success, and you will see yourself becoming a success. Words can be likened to the cloth you wear. It is either creative or destructive.

Avoid discouragement

This is another key to opening the door of success. You must not allow discouragement to take the good part of you. Discouragement is a terrible disease. It is quite sad that many people are waging war against themselves. If you allow the devil to bring discouragement to your way, you might get yourself into trouble. Refuse to be discouraged, anytime the devil wants to box you into a comer. Discouragement leads to hopelessness and despair.

How do you know the size of a person? The size of a person can be known, by how much it takes to discourage him. Encouraged people succeed, while discouraged people fail. A person, who is always discouraged, will die very quickly, even before his time.

A student in the University of Lagos once had an accident. He was taken to the emergency unit of the university’s hospital. At that unit, there were two men, in a critical condition who heard the nurse screaming that one of the men was gasping for breath. Before the doctor could get there, the man gave up the ghost, and he was covered up. The man died of malaria. The

other man, who was suffering from pile became inquisitive about the sudden death of this man. He became fearful, and discouraged. A week after, he also died.

There are many today, who have seen death, as the best solution to their problems. A sister got discouraged one day and decided to put an end to her life. Right in her room, she tied her wrapper on the fan, so as to hang herself. While she was doing this, her daughter came in and told her: “Mum, I will also like to do, what you are doing.” This gave the sister a message, and she gave up committing suicide.

There are men and women in the Bible, who refuse to die even, when the enemy wanted them dead. Close your eyes and say this prayer: “I refuse to die, according to the wishes of my enemies, in the name of Jesus.”

Beg for bread?

God is able to meet all the needs of your life. He expects you to be self-sufficient, and not to be a beggar. The unbelievers are those who are supposed to beg. The Bible says:

Psalm 37:25: I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Lack must never be found with you. Your God does not want you to be ravaged by poverty. There is divine provision for all the needs of your life. Pray this prayer seriously: “Any power that wants me and my children to beg, die, in the name of Jesus.”

A sister saw a vision of the devil in a market. The devil was selling different kinds of things in the market. The sister clearly spotted items like cancer, tuberculosis, frustration and other things, with prices attached to them. This sister later asked the devil to name the most expensive item. With this, the devil later brought out an harmless looking wooden instrument. The stick was old and out of use.

The sister was surprised, and she asked the devil what it meant. It was then that the devil came out plainly, that what she saw was the spirit of

discouragement. The devil revealed that with the key of discouragement, he could get access to many people and thus open the doors of other problems.

PRINCIPLES OF EXPLOSIVE SUCCESS

To experience explosive success, there are certain principles that must be imbibed. The following principles must necessarily be inculcated, if you want to experience breakthrough and success in life:

Dream

You must have a dream. This dream is not just about sleeping and seeing the enemy pursuing you. But, it is a drive, which will be in your subconscious motivating you to pursue successful achievements in life. Dare to dream like Joseph, dare to dream about reaching the pinnacle!

Dream and vision are closely linked. That is why the Bible frowns at person without a dream or vision.

Proverbs 29:18: Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

It is the dream you have, that will give you the push and the urge, which will prevent you from never getting tired or discouraged, on the pathway to success.

Desire

This is another principle of success you cannot separate desire from success. For you to become successful in your life and ministry, you must have a burning desire that can never be quenched, with the water of discouragement. When your desire is backed up with actions, you can be sure of achieving success.

Psalm 37:4: Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Determination

It is through determination, that you will become, what you ought to be. Determination will never dance to the tune of discouragement, or accept defeat. Even when things are going the wrong way, it is determination that will keep you up.

Direction

Direction keeps you in focus and will not allow your feet to be moved away from the pathway of success. Direction will help you on daily basis to be your best. You will never be derailed, when you have a clear direction.

Diligence

This is important for achieving explosive success. It is diligence, that will position you among highly placed personalities. When you are diligent, there is no height of success, that you cannot attain. The Bible says:

Proverbs 22:29: Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Idleness and indolence are not permitted in the Bible. God expects you to take delight in whatsoever things you do. Diligence will make you rich and successful in life.

Discipline

Discipline will make you become what you really want to be life. If you can discipline yourself, you will achieve great things. It is through discipline that you will become distinguished from the crowd.

Have you ever taken time to study the biographies of successful people? If you have, you will discover that certain principles of success play important roles in their lives. It is through discipline, that you will be able to take control of yourself, your time and resources.

Decision

This is an essential principle of success. You take decisions on daily basis, which go a long way in making you a success or a failure. In fact, it is the

decision you take in life, that will determine your success, and even, your destiny.

To have explosive success, therefore, your decisions must be directed and controlled by God. Let God guide and decide for you on daily basis. It is possible for you to take some seemingly right decisions, which might be detrimental to your well being. Right decisions must be taken on the choice of business, career, employment, marriage, etc.

There is a constant factor in your quest for explosive success. God never changes. He is the surest anchor of success. Men can fail, opportunities might not work out well, but God will never change. It is only God that can lead you to lasting success. No other person can guarantee you success. Make God your anchor today, and you will stand in the midst of the billows of life. He has done it before, He will do it again in your life.

1. Every unrepentant arrow fire against my enlargement, die, in the name of Jesus.

• You spiritual robbers return my stolen goods, in the name of Jesus.

• Every witchcraft spirit, planing against my life, I command you to appear by fire, in the name of Jesus.

• I reverse your power, in the name of Jesus.

• Oh Lord, plant the seed of breakthroughs into my life, in the name of Jesus.

• You spirit of the tail, I declare you guilty in my life, therefore, die, in the name of Jesus.

• O Lord, let me locate my divine original, in the name of Jesus.

• You heavens, refuse to obey the instructions of my enemies.

• I come with the keys of David, and I command locked doors to open, in the name of Jesus.

1. Every satanic giant in the garden of my life, I bring a warrant of arrest against you from heaven, in the name of Jesus.

1. I renounce the control of the queen of heaven upon my life, in the name of Jesus.

1. Spirit of disgrace, disappear, spirit of glory, appear, in the name of Jesus.

1. Every evil attachment to any house I lived in before, break, in the name of Jesus.
