The importance of marriage cannot be over emphasized. The state of the community, the nation as well as the church is a reflection of what goes on in individual marriages or families. Good and godly homes make godly communities or societies.

If the foundation of marriage or the family is poorly laid the church and the society suffer. Apart from your salvation and your Christian life, the next most important thing is your marriage. If the devil succeeds in sending wicked arrows against your future marriage plans, you will definitely become a victim of the most wicked arrow in the world.

As far as marriage is concerned, God has a plan. The devil also has a wicked agenda. There is a tough conflict between the kingdom of darkness and that of God in the area of marriage. God wants to score resounding victory while the devil wants to record monumental losses. Your actions or response to what God will teach you through the book you hold in your hands will either make you to record a glorious history or come up with tragic defeat.

THE BATTLE

You owe yourself a great deal of debt in the area of marriage. You must decide and declare that come-what-may, the devil will not win this battle. You must give whatever it takes to ensure that the spiritual edifice which your marriage will become in the years ahead will be nothing but a monument of glory unto the Almighty.

Towards this end you need serious preparation, personal examination and paying

meticulous attention to the ingredients and components of a healthy marriage. Although it is said that Rome was not built in a day, you can decide to assemble the blocks that will make your marriage a grandiose edifice that will stand the test of time.

THE FOUNDATION

The truth that we all need to examine is that marital problems that abound in the church and in the world can be traced to lack of good foundations. The enemy has attacked the foundation with the greatest subtlety he can muster. As long as he has succeeded in putting a bad foundation in place, he knows that the deed has been done. The scripture attests to the fact that once the foundation is damaged, there is almost nothing anyone can do.

Psalm 11:2-3

For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

The wicked has secretly shot poisonous arrows at the foundation of many marriages. Consequently, many marital foundations are destroyed. The only solution, beloved, is to allow God locate the foundation of bad marriages and work on the foundation of homes that will be established.

GOOD NEWS

As far as marriage is concerned, there are good news and there are bad news. Bad news? The arena of marriage has been converted to a battle field. It has become a sorry state. Casualties litter the field of battle. The good news? Our God is able to repair the damages put in place by the kingdom of darkness. In our generation, God is set to do a new thing in the area of marriage. He wants to set up godly homes that will become, in the years ahead, places where the God of battles will make an open show of the enemy.

God has decided to pay attention to the issue of marriage. God’s prophetic agenda is to plan, build and establish marriages that will showcase the wonderful abilities of the God who answereth by fire. All hands must be on deck. Our singles and youths must be encouraged to pray and align their lives with the

divine blue print. God will no longer tolerate the onslaught of the kingdom of darkness in the area of marriage. Power must change hands. The God of Heaven and Earth has taken the driver’s seat. He is about to work out His agenda for this generation. Beloved, God requires your cooperation and your meticulous attention. The Almighty is ready to play his part, you must play your own part at this auspicious moment. The book you hold in your hands is God’s matching orders for the next generation.

TIMELESS PRINCIPLES

The survival of the church depends on strict adherence to the principles that are vomited by the Holy Ghost in this life-changing, destiny-moulding and marriage-enhancing book. The greatest principles are not necessarily the complex ones. Principles that work are often as simple as ABC.

God is not going to give you rules that are too difficult or complex to obey. The Almighty wants to simply take you back to the Bible and show you principles that are so simple to be noticed. All you need to do is listen to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit as He gives you these principles in this book.

One of the greatest good news this world has ever known is that God has never denied us of what I call the ‘Manufacturers’ manual. God has not thrown us into this world to move about blindfolded. He has put, in every hand, a manual that will enable us chart our course throughout life. This manual is the Bible. Have you ever bought a complex gadget and decided to throw the manual away? If you ever took such an action how would you have made maximum use of the garget? To be quite honest with you, life is complex. On a very sincere note, the issue of marriage is fraught with challenges. University professors, rich business men and women and seasoned technocrats have failed woefully in the arena of marriage.

THE MANUAL

If you examine the homes of the high and mighty, you maybe shocked to discover that what you will see can be likened to a theatre of war. No wonder the Bible says, Great men are not always wise. Inventors, intelligent men and women as well as those who can be classified as highly successful are generally

busy licking wounds of marital distress. The truth is that none of us can afford to ignore the manual that God Has attached to our lives especially in the area of marriage. The Bible tells us how marriage works. We must be humble enough to push aside what we regard as our personal wisdom and allow the Ancient of days to give us the basic rules that will make marriage work. Therefore, I will take you back to the manual that will give you a glorious marriage.

Marriage is an institution ordained by God for the well being of mankind. It answers many of our hopes, dreams and aspirations. At the beginning, God declared.

Genesis 6:18

But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

DIVINE OPERATIONS

Divine operations differ significantly from human operations. Most human actions are devoid of purpose. People simply rush into actions without clear cut motives. Whatever is done without purpose may end up leaving a sour taste on the buds of people. God declared at the beginning of human existence that it is not good for human beings to be alone without the company which holy wedlock provides. One of the beauties of the works of God is that He sets the solitary in families.

Psalm 68:6

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are

bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

In the beginning Adam was the lone creature of God. God saw it fit to provide companionship. Hence, the first marriage was conducted in Eden. Interestingly God was the officiating priest. For God to have been visibly seen in the first marriage reveals the interest He takes in that noble institution. God is keenly interested in seeing you happily married. He has provided all that will be needed to give you a blissful marital experience.

Just pay attention as you read on. Besides the incidents of the first marriage we

come across another epic narration of steps that were taken to consummate a particular marriage.

THE MANDATE

In the 24th chapter of the Book of Genesis, Abraham wanted a wife for his son, Isaac.

Genesis 24:1-4

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

Here, we are brought face to face with the issue of parental concern in marriage. Christian parents who are worth their salt generally show interest in their children’s journey towards marriage. When Abraham surveyed his vast estate and numerous possessions, he made it clear that he does not want his son to marry an unbeliever. The scripture has more than enough instructions for the wise. The principles are clear and easy to follow. The guidelines are explicit.

If you read your Bible carefully, you will discover that the blue print provided by God will enable every believer who has an eye on obeying God’s word to work in a plain path and avoid any form of crash.

Genesis 24:5-14

And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again. The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt

take a wife unto my son from thence. And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again. And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter. And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water. And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and there by shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

The above verses show that prayer plays a crucial role when it comes to the issue of a successful marriage. As the servant was given the onerous task of getting a wife for Abraham’s son, he was sent forth with fervent prayers by Abraham. Of course the servant prayed too.

Genesis 25:12-14

And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

THE FOUNDATION OF PRAYER

The greatest foundation you can establish for your marriage is the foundation of prayer. Without prayer no man or woman can succeed in the field of marriage. If

you are busy taking your own steps without serious prayers, you are simply establishing your future marriage on a shallow foundation. Abraham’s servant knew that getting the right partner was a huge task. Hence, he decided that he would not take anything for granted. He approached the throne of grace with a simple prayer point “O God of my master Abraham, direct me aright.”

Abraham’s servant had been given assurances concerning angelic assistance. The Bible says

Jeremiah 10:23

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

One prayer point which I am praying for every reader of this book is that the angel that will bring your divine partner shall appear, in the name of Jesus. When the angel that has been mandated to connect you with your partner appears, everything will fall into line. There shall be divine joy in your heart. You will receive assurance from the Holy Spirit that you have met the right person.

Your spiritual eyes will be opened and your ears will hear clearly from Heaven. Your heart will leap with joy and every step taken will be ordered from the throne of God.

ENCOUNTER WITH DEMONS

It is unfortunate, however, that some people have experienced encounters with demons in their journey towards marriage. Some people have been mismatched by the idols of their father’s or mother’s house. Some wicked spirits have been perpetrating wickedness in the lives of quite a number of people and have unleashed confusion upon many in the area of marriage. Strange enough, some people have seen masquerades, witchdoctors and local fetish priests telling them to marry particular ladies or men. Abraham commanded the angels of God to bring the right lady across his son. But some who are raised from idolatrous and demons homes have been waylaid by angry spirits in their various attempts to get married.

Beloved, marriage is not a joke. The devil, in his wickedness, has placed terrible

time bombs that are waiting to explode on the pathways of those who are trying to know the right partner. If you come from a deeply demonic background, you must go through deliverance and pray against powers that will not let you go. You must pray against demonic intervention and ask God to send angels that have no mercy to roast these resisting powers to ashes.

One principle you must not forget is that you need to pray for angelic assistance. The angel of God can connect you to your real partner even if both of you might be a thousand miles apart. In the spiritual department, there are angels whose assignment is to link you with people who will make your lives glorious. You need to pray and activate these angels, even when the angels have been dispatched from heaven. You must double your prayer efforts when the angels are hindered by princes and princesses of Persia who have vowed that your marriage will not see the light of day.

THE RAGE

Beloved, are you aware of the fact that the global divorce rate has reached an all time high? When instances of divorce have not yet taken place the couples suffer in silence as they only manage to live like cats and rats: Marriage is under severe attacks. There is a rage in the kingdom of darkness against marriage. The devil and his wicked cohorts hate marriage with perfect hatred. In fact, he has raised up and sent a demonic squad to prevent Christian homes from being set up. The devil even throws evil spanners in the works of already established Christian homes.

A confession was made recently that witchcraft members decided to go on a very long fast in order to destabilize Christian homes. If witches and wizards are fasting why are believers complaining that fasting programmes are too many? Beloved, the rage of the kingdom of darkness has been heightened in this generation. You need every spiritual assistance you can muster.

The enemy has moved to the highest gear. The Bible has raised an alarm.

Revelation 12:12

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the seal for the devil is come down unto

you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The devil knows that he has a very short time. That is why the battle in the arena of marriage has become very tough. The mystery of angelic assistance is God’s antidote and panacea for survival. Herein lies our survival strategy. This is our divine formula for victory. There is no time when the devil has come like a flood against marriage than now.

Isaiah 59:19

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

GOD’S STANDARD

But the good news is that God has raised a standard. God is a God of signs and wonders. He has surveyed the entire gamut of the satanic assault against marriage and concluded that victory is ours. Glory to God, a standard has been raised, heaven has moved swiftly and dribbled the enemy through the raising of divine standard. My heart goes out, at this moment, to those who have been beaten black and blue by demonic attackers. God has thrown a life line to those who are struggling in the turbulent sea of the journey towards marriage. Weep not beloved, heaven has raised a standard just for you. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has decided to arise on your behalf.

Revelation 5:5

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Every demonic lion harassing you in the area of marriage shall be destroyed. God’s standard will destroy every agenda prepared by the enemy against your marriage plans. Your God will send an angel of mercy who will declare ‘enough is enough’. Your days and nights of weeping are over. God has decided to fight your battles and give you sweatless victory. From now on, it shall be testimonies galore. Just hook unto the mystery of angelic intervention and your stay will

never be the same again.

Prayer Points

I refuse to co-operate with any anti-marriage spell and curses, in the name of Jesus.

I cancel every bewitchment fashioned against my settling down in marriage, in the name of Jesus.

Let every force magnetizing the wrong people to me be paralysed, in the name of Jesus.

I break every covenant of marital failure and late marriage, in the name of Jesus.

I cancel every spiritual wedding conducted consciously or unconsciously on my behalf, in Jesus’ name.

I remove the hand of household wickedness from my marital life, in the name of Jesus.

Let every incantation, incision, hexes and other spiritually harmful activities working against my marriage be completely neutralized, in the name of Jesus.
