DEFEATING THE MINISTRY OF WITCHCRAFT

The teaching on the ministry of witchcraft is one of the most neglected teachings among Christian believers. The understanding of most people is either darkened or limited in this area. The problem of witchcraft is as old as mankind’s history.

Witches and wizards have operated from time immemorial. Sad enough, many christians are afraid of reading any literature on the subject of witchcraft.

They prefer to remain in ignorance as a result of the fear of receiving spiritual harm from witches and wizards. Unfortunately, such people have suffered in ignorance. Some of them have been attacked by witches and wizards.

Those who are not attacked live under the paralysing force of fear of witches and wizards. In the end, a lot of people suffer unnecessarily when they ought to be living in victory. It is my desire, therefore; to demystify the ministry of witchcraft and provide sound biblical teaching concerning the believer’s victory over the power and manifestation of witchcraft.

You may ask? What insight has the Bible given us concerning this subject? Let us read Ezekiel 8:7-12:

And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. So I went in and saw;

and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about. And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

This passage reveals one of the earliest recorded manifestations of witchcraft in the scriptures. Witches and wizards were operating in the form of creeping things, abominable things and idols. The Lord gave Ezekiel this revelation.

Do you know that you can also pray to the point where God can give you a revelation which brings you face to face with physical operations of witchcraft powers.

Let us also look at Nahum 3:1-4:

Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not; The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots. The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses: Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

This passage gives us a very clear picture concerning the reality and the operations of witchcraft. Does this not sound like a clear picture of what is happening in our cities today?

This passage makes certain things clear.

1. The practice of witchcraft goes side by side with the shedding of blood.

• Prostitution or harlotry and witchcraft are strange bed fellows. Witchcraft abounds whenever there is prostitution. Nobody can be a prostitute without being initiated into witchcraft. It is a pity that some men foolishly go into witchcraft by committing immorality with prostitutes.

Prostitution is the mother of witchcraft. Conversely, witchcraft is the mother of prostitution.

3. Witchcraft brings about multiple deaths.

Recently, there was a terrible catastrophe in Jesse town in Nigeria. Almost 1,000 souls were lost in a fire incident. Was it ordinary? It was a clear manifestation of the wickedness of witchcraft. This shows is that any city or community that is dominated by witchcraft will be bloody in every practical sense of the word.

Let us look at another equally important Scripture, Isa. 49:24-26:

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that. I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

This passage teaches that there are two types of captives: lawful and unlawful.

1. mother-in-law resorted to the use of witchcraft after falling to exert the kind of influence she wanted on her son’s family. She was very unhappy with her son’s wife. She came in around 6 a. m. one day and told the man and his wife, “Watch out, I’ll soon prove to you that there are certain powers which cannot be seen with the naked

eye. I am going” to teach you a lesson.” Then she said to the son’s wife, “I will prove to you that this house belongs to my son.” Then she turned back and went away. The family woke up the next day to behold a strange scene. The man’s wife heard the sound of footsteps of more than a dozen men or women. She was disturbed. She wondered why such a crowd was coming to visit them early that day. Soon the door opened on its own accord and she almost fainted when she, saw a group of headless bodies. They tried to pounce on her. She was scared and confused. She shouted for help but none was forthcoming. The only saving, grace was the timely intervention of her housemaid.

Incidentally, both the woman and her housemaid were barely two weeks old in the church. Somehow, the housemaid had learnt one or two fire prayers. She therefore began to command the fire of the Holy Ghost upon the strange demonic beings. Somehow it worked. The evil personalities were restrained as a result of the force of the little girl’s prayer. The demonic beings warned the little girl, “Why are you commanding fire upon us. What is your business here? Why are you trying to rescue her? After all, we did not come for you. Stop your prayer or we shall deal with you.” The girl continued her prayer until the demons went out of the house in single file.

That day was a horrible day for most people in hat environment. The demonic presence was so palpable that most people who passed through the environment suffered one thing or the other. That shows us how terrible witchcraft operations can be.

This example goes beyond the level of the elementary stories of witchcraft which we often hear.

A man, lost his property to a so-called spiritualist. Although the spiritualist had warned him to steer clear of the property, the man refused saying that he would not abandon his building. The spiritualist visited the man and ordered him to steer clear of the building. The man said, “How can I abandon my house? Why must you use your magical powers to dispossess me of my house? This house belongs to me.” The spiritualist became infuriated and all of a sudden hit the

wall with his fist, and three old men came to the living room from the direction of the man’s bedroom. The man’s head stood on end. “How did you get here?” he shouted. “We have been here for one year. This house does not belong to you”, they replied. That is another manifestation of witchcraft.

A man and a woman informed their pastor of their intention to get married. The pastor interviewed them and fixed a date for their wedding. Certain strange things began to happen as soon as the date was fixed. The woman, who was supposed to be happy, went everywhere sad. Everybody was surprised and people were asking, “Why is this woman not excited about her wedding?” Nobody could penetrate her heart to know what was there. Even the bridegroom did not succeed in extracting any information from her.

However, the wedding took place as planned. The bride and the bridegroom were conveyed to their home in a beautiful car. At night the lady refused to enter her husband’s bedroom. The husband was both confused and embarrassed. Somehow, he felt that the woman was only being shy. He managed to drag her inside the room. He looked up at her and said, “Is there any problem? Please, don’t hide anything from me. I am sure you know that I am your husband.” The woman said, “Okay, I am going to show you who I am. Come nearer.” Without saying anything she undressed and directed the attention of the husband to the direction of her private part. Behold, she was an hermaphrodite. She had both male and female organs. “That was not all, her leg was exactly like the leg of a lion.

The man almost fainted. He quickly grabbed her hands and said, “Let us go back to the pastor.” He narrated his strange experience to the pastor saying, “Pastor, you must dissolve this wedding. Can I show you what I discovered on the lady whom you joined together with me? This marriage cannot work. You must dissolve it now.” The pastor looked up and down and said, “I am sorry. It is impossible. After all, you know that the Bible says, ‘What God has joined together let no man put asunder.’ After all, you came to me saying that you wanted to marry each other.” The new bridegroom did not know what to do.

Later the wife was queried why she did not disclose her condition. Everyone was surprised when she said; “It is not my fault. I was not born that way. I found myself in that condition exactly on the day our wedding date was fixed. I was so confused that I could not tell anyone. I just found myself in that condition one month ago.” That is one example of the terrible operations of witchcraft. No doubt, those who were responsible for such wickedness must have been present at the wedding ceremony.

The word ‘witch’ originally means ‘to bend’ or ‘to change’. The primary function of witches and wizards is to bend what is straight, making it crooked. They change and refashion things to conform to their wicked intentions.

Witchcraft is the power of Satan, the opposite of the power of the Holy Spirit. Witches and wizards are perhaps, the major leaders in Satan’s kingdom.

There is a major difference between the Holy Spirit and witches and wizards. The Holy Spirit is a person while witchcraft is a spiritual force distributed among countless numbers of agents.

It is unfortunate therefore that many intellectuals, well disciplined people and morally upright men and women are being carefully and intelligently controlled by witchcraft spirits.

To be quite honest with you, this and other nations are being controlled by witchcraft forces. The battle for this and other African nations is not the battle to be fought with guns. It is a battle to be fought in the heavenlies.

Today, many people are battling with these forces without being able to discern what exactly is happening. Some people know that their problem is rooted in witchcraft but they are at a loss concerning how to break free from the tentacles of these wicked forces. Although they are averse to being victims of witchcraft attack yet they are slaves to witchcraft.

However, we must admit that things are a lot better today in the nations of the world because of the power of the gospel. In the past, things were very bad. People were dying everyday. A lot of things happened in those days. Some women had 10 children and lost eight out of them.

It is amazing today that some university professors sit down in their ivory tower to declare that there is no God. I wonder what would have happened to such people if they had lived in the days of terrible manifestations of witchcraft. What saved such people is the fact that certain preachers of the gospel brought civilization into their dark community. Such self-styled atheists would not have survived beyond their tenth birthday.

Witchcraft is much more complicated than we can ever imagine. It is deeply entrenched in the heavenlies. It has a lot to do with the sun, the moon and the stars. Witches and wizards are wicked. No matter how much love they claim to have for their children, they still go ahead to sacrifice them.

The operations and manifestation of witchcraft have become very complex in our days. Sad enough, witchcraft has infiltrated into the house of God where a lot of strange things are now happening. Most of these strange occurrences are pure manifestations of witchcraft. They have become part and parcel of the life of the church.

The other day, a man of God went to a video shop to buy some video cassettes. They sold the wrong ones to him. When he discovered this he went back there. But instead of asking them to correct their mistake he began to rain abuses at them. To prove that he was under the anointing, he stopped occasionally, spoke in tongues and then reverted to calling them all kinds of names.

Was he really anointed? How can you combine anointing with the use of abusive language and cursing? That is an expression of witchcraft manifestation. You cannot combine the anointing of God with cursing and bitterness. To combine the two means to be under the influence of witchcraft manipulation.

Other, people had been manipulated through the power of witchcraft, even in the house of God. Two people joined their hands together to pray. Then, someone came up with a fake prophecy: “The man whose hands you are holding is your husband. You must accept it, by force. There is nothing you can do about it.” Is that not an example of clever witchcraft manipulation?

Why is witchcraft manipulation in some churches? It is simply because the word of God has lost its central place. Evil spirits have taken over. Manipulation has become the order of the day, as anything goes in the name of religion.

Many people have succeeded in substituting tradition for the word of God. Practices like infant baptism, giving sacrament to those who are about to die, the granting of indulgences and other ungodly practices have come up as a result of the manipulations of witchcraft.

Many people have found it very difficult to obey the word of God due to the influence of witchcraft forces.

There are lots of witchcraft operations within the church, although they are shrouded in mystery. The evil powers take away the word of God from the hearts of the people. They incite men and women into all kinds of ungodly behaviour. They lead christian leaders into all kinds of unimaginable behaviour. They also introduce certain things which are not part of the gospel into the church.

Once a person is being controlled by any other spirit other than the Holy Spirit, it is witchcraft. Witches and wizards have mastered the art of deception. The moment they are able to perceive the seed of royalty in someone’s life, they go ahead to use every wicked method to get rid of that person. Whenever a child appears promising, right from infancy, they try everything to get rid of him.

Recently we were praying with a 14-year old boy who needed deliverance. The boy was so wicked that he had siphoned the fortunes of his parents, making them extremely poor. His father sat for a particular exam 14 times and failed at each attempt.

The boy made a lot of startling confessions. He told us about a wicked assignment they carried out in Australia. According to him, he belonged to a group of five wicked wizards. He told us that the number four wizard was assigned to kill a particular baby in Australia. They had foreseen the future of the baby. According to divine destiny, the baby was supposed to cause a lot of havoc in the kingdom of darkness. They went to kill it and they succeeded.

The parents of the little baby were born again christians but they were careless. Instead of providing a spiritual cover for the innocent baby, they unwittingly helped the devil. They abandoned their new born baby and started fighting. They spent over one hour in their attempt to give vents to their carnal emotions. While the fight lasted, the wizard who was assigned to kill the baby succeeded in his job.

That was exactly how they attempted to kill Moses but they did not succeed.

WHAT IS WITCHCRAFT?

1. It is the universal religion of fallen humanity. Immediately man fell and departed from the living God, the religion he adopted and the power which motivated him was witchcraft. You wonder how that happened? It is simple. The Bible says “Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.”

• It is the exercise of supernatural power by possessed persons who are in league with the devil.

• It is a conference with the devil to carry out evil acts. Today, many people are having fellowship with the devil.

• It is the practice of magic and sorcery.

• It is the use of demonic influence to undo or subdue other people. Witchcraft agents generally use their powers to manipulate or subdue innocent men and women.

• It is an intercourse with evil spirits to fulfil very wicked designs.

• It is the use of satanic weapon to cause evil to others and to destroy their good prospects.

• It is the use of invisible powers to carry out evil assignments.

A pastor told me how he faced stiff opposition in his locality. Fellow ministers were against him because almost everyone was rushing to his church. When the persecution became too much he decided to set apart some time to seek the face of God. Then he had a strange dream. Someone decided to fight with him in the dream. Although he wanted to beat up the opponent, he was somewhat reluctant. The opponent happened to be a fragile looking white lady. He felt that it was indecent to beat up a lady. However, the lady pounced on him and beat him mercilessly. It was then he realised that the whole thing was not a joke. He fought back like a wounded lion. He almost overpowered the white lady, but something happened. The lady looked towards the heavenlies and summoned some demonic forces to assist her. It was then the pastor knew that people were using witchcraft powers to fight against him. Is there any gang-up by witchcraft forces against your life? Are you being attacked in any way? Then you must take this prayer point.

Every satanic reinforcement against my life, be scattered by fire, in the name of Jesus.

• It is spiritual defilement. That is why some people find themselves in the toilet in their dreams. Others, find themselves in dirty environment with faeces rubbed all over their bodies and flies perching on their bodies. These are manifestations of witchcraft operations.

1. It is stealing of peace from a particular person or place. Once peace is withdrawn from a particular place you are left with chaos. Witchcraft powers tamper with peace in many homes.

1. It is the art of causing constant oppression to other people using satanic weapons.

The enemy does not mind employing a whole army to fight against an individual. That is why some people are surrounded by multiple battles. They fight one battle only to face another one. They conclude that the battles are over when evil powers are only taking their time to gather more reinforcement.

WEAPONS OF WITCH CRAFT FORCES

Let us now examine various weapons used by witchcraft forces to destroy men and women.

• MANIPULATION

This is perhaps the most powerful weapon used by witchcraft powers. They use their power to manipulate men and women, leading them by the nose to total destruction.

• CONTROL

A lot of people are remotely controlled by witches and wizards. Such people fail to do what they plan to do. Rather, they are under a strong control.

• INTIMIDATION

This is another weapon used by witches and wizards. The word ‘intimidation’ connotes detaching someone from his purpose by instilling fear into his heart.

• ISOLATION

These powers isolate their victims. They successfully use this weapon to drive everyone away from you and turn you to a loner. If you come across anyone who does not talk to anyone and lives alone, in his own world, he is a victim of satanic operation. Those who are afraid of mixing with others, those who are scared by crowds and those who are fond of hibernating in a corner are all candidates of attacks by witches and wizards.

• SOUL TIES

This weapon is used to tie the soul of a particular person to the soul of another, giving him no option to live without influence. It becomes very difficult to do what you want to do. For example, a man who has been involved with several women before he got married has automatically gone into several soul ties. A man who tried to marry 40 different women and failed but succeeded in marrying the 41st would have formed so many soul ties. If he has told 30 of them ‘I will marry you’ he has formed 30 soul ties. These multiple soul ties will affect him one way or the other.

• FEAR

Fear is a very effective weapon used by witchcraft agents. Fear leads into bondage. The moment the weapon of fear succeeds in your life witchcraft powers will be able to do what they want.

• CONFUSION

Whenever these powers want to destroy anyone they lead him or her into confusion. The state of the heart is so important that none can afford to harbour confusion in his or her heart. That is why Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled.” It is your responsibility to keep your heart from confusion.

• LOSS OF PERSONAL IDENTITY

When witches and wizards want, to destroy a man or a woman they make him or her to lose the sense of personal identity.

A man once shared an experience with me. He narrated how he went to visit his mother at home the moment he got his first salary. He drove to his village. In his personal car and cleverly returned immediately.

A few moments after he had left, some of his relatives came to ask his mother after his welfare: “Woman, we heard that your son came from Lagos today. Has he gone back? How exactly is he doing over

there? We are interested in knowing the details.” This brother told me that his mother said, “Oh you come to check my son. He has to run back to Lagos because he was ashamed of himself. He is just suffering in Lagos. Everything is upside down.” The people went away, perhaps happy.

When he saw his mother and asked her, “Mummy, why did you say all those bad things about me?” The mother replied, “Oh, you are a small boy. You don’t understand this village. If I had told them that you had a car and a plum job, they will with witchcraft within one month. That was why I lied to them.” What was the purpose of those people? They wanted to know if the brother had discovered himself.

• SICKNESS

Witches and wizards send demons of sickness and disease to attack their victims. Most of the sicknesses are incurable.

• PROPHETIC DIVINATION

This weapon is also called charismatic witchcraft. Witches and wizards have infiltrated the churches. They give false prophecy through their agents. Thus, they are able to confuse and destroy innocent souls. It is unfortunate that those who would never go to consult witch doctors often consult witchcraft agents who disguise themselves as prophets. A lot of prophecies which people receive today are of witchcraft origin. How can a prophet ask someone to submit himself or herself for incision? How can a prophet sell anointing oil for 20,000.00?

• CASTING SPELLS ON PEOPLE

Witches and wizards specialise in cursing people. The African society is filled with witches and wizards. Men and women who are witchcraft agents often rain curses upon their children.

The other day I overheard a mother raining terrible curses on her little son thinking that she was merely playing. She said, “Come here now. If you delay in coming, your life will become restless like the

gate. It will shuffle back and forth. While I was asking her to stop the cursing, she issued a second one: “If you delay in answering me, your, life will become like the sole of the foot where hair does not grow. Nothing good will grow in your life.” When I challenging her, the woman simply laughed and said, “Don’t mind me, I am only joking.”

• DARK DIVINATION

Those who go to consult the powerful mediums or fetish priests are consulting with witchcraft agents.

• CONSULTING HERBALISTS/WITCH-DOCTORS

Those who consult herbalists are indeed dealing with agents of witchcraft.

• SACRIFICES AND RITUALS

This weapon is used by human beings to appease evil powers. In the real sense, these sacrifices are given as bribes to witchcraft powers to enable them to fight against those to whom they are sent.

• SINGING AND DANCING TO RAISE EVIL ENERGY

When some people attend evil gatherings where there is a lot of drumming and dancing, they become frenzied, jumping up and down. After warming themselves up they begin to give some strange prophecy.

• CURSES

To curse someone means to utter words which are capable of bringing misfortune to the person.

• FAKE HEALING

Witchcraft agents possess counterfeit powers which they use in removing sicknesses from those who are afflicted.

• CULTS AND THE OCCULTS

Students who join cults in higher institutions are junior students in the school of witchcraft. Members of occultic societies may say that they are only trying to discover their inner powers. But all of them, including members of lodges, international secret societies like Freemason, Roscicrucianism, the African lodge and scores of other occult groups practise different levels of witchcraft.

• CONVERTING PEOPLE INTO ANIMALS

Witchcraft powers generally convert their victims to animals before dealing with them.

• LYING AND DECEPTION

They use deception and lying as a weapon for destroying people’s lives.

Having looked at the weapons, we need to also examine their mode of operation.

MODE OF OPERATION OF WITCHCRAFT

1. They curse people.

• They control people.

• They harm people.

• They destroy things.

• They corrupt things and people.

• They damage a lot of things.

• They cause great damage.

• They are enemies of God.

• They are blood thirsty. Whenever their blood banks are empty they go for more blood by causing accidents.

10. They lie in wait to destroy souls.

There are two types of witches: conscious and unconscious.

Conscious witches are very destructive. They carry out most of their activities at night. Their reason for the choice of the night for carrying out their wicked activities can be traced to the fact that most people are not generally alert at that time. That is why we encourage Christians to pray at night. They will find it difficult to attack you if you pray at night.

1. They generally believe that they can conceal their identities.

1. They tell lies.

1. They are always proud.

1. Human lives mean nothing to them.

They are able to destroy human lives with ease. A lot of men often come to me asking to know what to do after discovering that they married witches. Some of them have attempted to drive away the women.

I have been a christian for a far long time now, but I am yet to see a man who drove away his wife because she was a witch and later prospered. The witch will not prevent you from driving her away, she will simply go somewhere else to reinforce and attack you. The best thing to do is to look for a way of running such wives through deliverance. Even if she says that she is not ready to go through deliverance, there are prayer points which the husband can make use of to bombard her into submission.

15. They are very fearless.

Those who are involved in witchcraft do not fear. That is why some ladies are not afraid to stay in darkness, under the bridge, waiting for a lift. They are not afraid because they are members of the larger witchcraft society.

16. They issue curses on people in coded language.

You must be fervent in the Lord to be able to cancel those kind of coded curses.

17. They relish human flesh.

The Bible says, “Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron” (Micah 3:2-3).

18. They are robbers and they are bloody.

They can ride human beings as horses to their meetings. They can see what is happening in the light and in darkness.

1. They can manipulate their victims in the dream through spiritual, sexual intercourse.

• They can make use of cannibalistic and nocturnal animals.

• They can put marks in people’s heads.

These witchcraft agents can put marks of hatred upon people. They can also put evil marks on properties and certificates. They can programme their operations like a spider’s web. Some people see things like spiders’ web each time they close their eyes.

• They can put ancient marks on people. With that kind of mark, they make people older than their age. Such victims often become expired even when they are just starting living their lives.

• Witchcraft instruments are often used to programme oppression into the atmosphere.

• They can inject evil spirits into people’s lives.

They do this by suppressing human spirit and exchanging it with demonic spirit. Such people find it difficult to control themselves. They experience conflict in personality behaviour.

25. They go into astral projection.

They, leave their body on earth and travel into the spiritual world.

• They can project themselves into another creature to carry out evil activities.

I remember the story of a particular brother who threw a cutlass at cat. The cat cried out in human language. The cat even spoke Yoruba language. That is an example of witchcraft manipulation.

• They contaminate their children and kill them.

• They forcefully initiate people into their society.

How then can someone know when he is a victim of witchcraft operation? What are the symptoms of witchcraft attack, what are the signs associated with victims of witchcraft attack?

How can you know when witches and wizards are working against your life? Here are the things to look for.

SIGNS OF WITCHCRAFT ATTACKS

1. Attack by wicked and intelligent witchcraft – If you find that you are being harassed by wicked and intelligent witchcraft network, you must use the weapon of prayer against them.

• Denial of divine benefit – If you find that you have never enjoyed your divine benefit, start praying against witchcraft operation in your life.

• Pursuit by stubborn household wickedness – If you find that unrepentant and stubborn household wickedness pursuing you, start praying against it.

• Intensive marital turbulence – If you are suffering from intensive marital turbulence, then you must pray against witchcraft agents.

• ‘Almost there’ anointing – If you discover that your life is characterised by the anointing of ‘almost there but never there’, then something is wrong somewhere.

• Attacks with satanic weapons – If you find that your life has been turned to a centre where all forms of satanic weapons are tested, then you must take your battle to the gates of witches and wizards. Let me give you the promise of God: “And I will cut off witchcraft out of thy land and thou shall have no more” (Micah 5:12).

• Attacks on progress in new apartment – If you find that you no longer experience progress from the moment you begin to live in a particular house, then you can be sure that witchcraft powers are working against you.

A brother once moved into a block of flats in the company of two other tenants. The three tenants had very good cars. Incidentally the landlord was also living with them in the same house. He had no car.

The brother began to notice a development. The first tenant lost his car. A few months later, the second tenant also lost his car. The only person who now had a car was this brother. Then he began to have a problem with his car. He decided to go into aggressive prayer, when it dawned on him that he might also lose his car. He prayed for hours, days and weeks.

One day, the Lord spoke to him, telling him to go and look into the well at the back of their house. To his amazement, he saw a tortoise. He brought the tortoise out with a bucket. What he saw shocked him. The names of the three tenants were written in a piece of paper and tied to the neck of the tortoise. He thought of what to do. He smashed the tortoise, poured anointing oil on it and burnt it. That was how God turned the tide in his favour. His car began to work and he did not lose it.

The landlord had no car when the three tenants moved into the house. By the time they were losing their cars, the landlord was buying several cars. The brother who prayed would have suffered like his colleagues but for the power of prayer. He told his fellow tenants, who happen to be university lecturers, what he found inside the well. They simply told him off saying, “Such stories are not real.” They continued to suffer while the landlord continued to prosper.

• Financial embarrassment – If you are experiencing inexplicable financial embarrassment or stagnancy in your business, you need to pray.
