Exhortation:

Beloved in the Lord, do not be dismayed by the darkness that may seem to surround you, the wickedness that may permeate your environment. Remember that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. We are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father1 which is in heaven. Stand firm in your faith, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.2 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Confession:

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that we live in a world tainted by sin and wickedness, and sometimes the environment around us seems to be influenced by darkness. We confess that we have not always been vigilant in resisting the forces of evil. We confess any participation, knowingly or unknowingly, in activities that have opened doors to environmental wickedness. We confess any fear or doubt that has allowed the enemy to gain ground in our lives and our surroundings. Forgive us, Lord, for our shortcomings and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We declare that we are children of light, and darkness has no dominion over us. We choose to walk in Your light and to stand against every form of environmental wickedness. In Jesus name, Amen.
