Exhortation:

Beloved in Christ, the Word of God teaches us that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). Generosity is not merely about material possessions; it encompasses our time, talents, and love. A spirit of stinginess and lack hinders the flow of God’s blessings in our lives and prevents us from being a blessing to others. Today, we confront this ungodly spirit and declare our commitment to a life of open-handedness and cheerful giving. Let us examine our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to break every chain of selfishness.

Confession:

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging that we have, at times, harbored a spirit of lack and stinginess. We have held back when we should have given, and we have prioritized our own desires over the needs of others. We confess the times we have been unwilling to share our resources, our time, and our talents. Forgive us, Lord, for allowing the spirit of lack to take root in our hearts. We repent of every act of selfishness and every thought that has hindered generosity within us. We ask for Your grace to cultivate a heart that is open, willing, and joyful in giving. Cleanse us from the love of money and the fear of scarcity. We desire to reflect Your generous nature in all that we do.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8: “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not1 grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound2 to every good work.”

  7. Every financial stronghold of the enemy hindering my giving, be shattered now, in Jesus name, Amen.
  8. I receive the grace to give willingly and abundantly, in Jesus name, Amen.
  9. Let the love of money lose its grip on my heart, in Jesus name, Amen.
  10. I declare that I am a channel of God’s blessings, not a storage house, in Jesus name, Amen.
  11. Every spirit of poverty mentality affecting my generosity, be broken, in Jesus name, Amen.
  12. Father, teach me to trust You for all my needs, so I can give freely, in Jesus name, Amen.
  13. I bind and cast out every demon of scarcity operating in my life, in Jesus name, Amen.
  14. Let the spirit of open-handedness dominate my actions, in Jesus name, Amen.
  15. Every negative influence from my past that hinders my generosity, be nullified, in Jesus name, Amen.
  16. I decree that I will sow bountifully and reap bountifully, in Jesus name, Amen.
