Biblical Exhortation:

Beloved, the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Though enemies may rise against us, both seen and unseen, we are assured in His Word that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We are called to stand firm in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual1 hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).2 Therefore, let us put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Let us3 trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6), for He will fight our battles.

Confession:

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging Your sovereignty and power over all things. We confess that at times we have been overwhelmed by the attacks and threats of our external enemies. We confess any fear, anxiety, or doubt that has crept into our hearts. Forgive us for any reliance on our own strength rather than on Your mighty arm. We declare that You are our defender, our shield, and our buckler. We confess that no weapon formed against us by external forces shall succeed. We declare our trust in Your unfailing love and protection. We are Your children, and You are our ever-present help in times of need. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;

whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life;

of whom shall I be afraid?4
