Bible Exhortation:

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.1 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might2 have life through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.3 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. (1 John 4:7-12, NIV)

This4 passage reminds us that God’s very nature is love, and as His children, we are called to reflect that love in our interactions with others. Forgiveness is an integral part of love, allowing us to extend grace as God has extended grace to us.

Bible Confession:

Heavenly Father, I come before you acknowledging that forgiveness can be difficult, especially when I have been deeply hurt. However, your Word teaches me to forgive as Christ forgave me. I confess that holding onto bitterness and resentment only harms me and hinders my relationship with you and others. By your grace, I choose to release the hurt and the offender into your hands. I declare that I am willing to forgive, even when it feels impossible, knowing that with you, all things are possible. I believe that as I choose forgiveness, your healing and peace will flow into my heart and life. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
